How did European exploration and colonization forever change the landscape and lives of people in the Old World and the New World?

In many ways european explorations and colonizations have forever changed the new and old world. One way that they changed it was the way the new and old world trade goods, people, and livestock. For a long time The old world knew nothing about the New world, they thought that the United States (or americas as they would say) diddn't even exist. They only traveled on land to trade goods but after the Exploration to the new world they found another way to trade. By sea. Also by exploring to another country they found new things to plant and share with the old world so that they can more things to eat and to share with the old world. other than food they also found new land that they could settle on so that britian could spread out far from britian. We also learned new ways of traveling , hunting, planting, and building.

Discovering the Undiscovered- Would you go?

It is the year 2020 and you, an astronaut, have been asked to lead a voyage into a part of outer space that very little is known about. Would you go?:

yes I would go because I love to take chances and that would be a wonderful chance to take. if I did go and found something or did something that no one ever did in the history of man kind then I would be so famous and probably even richer than Bill Gates[wishful thinking]!! Also what could have happened to me could have became a movie and I could become richer than Bill Gate[again wishful thinking]. But on the other hand if I did go up there there might be some technical difficulties that I could not withstand and I might end up dying on my way up there or even worse, something[like an alein] could kill me while im in space!!

The Printing Press and the Spread of Knowledge

The Printing press made a very big inpact in the Reaissance period. It helped in the publishing of books and papers. It made books affordable for everyone and not just people who had alot of money. It also helped in the making of knowledge because for a long time before that alot of people didnt know how to read. But once the printing press came out then they made more books so that more people could read and understand it.

The Internet has made a very big inpack on this period in time. It has givin us more access to the world that we live in. It has also given us answers to alot of questions that we have. This divice helps us in ways i cant even explain. If there is something that you have answer to then all you have to do is push a button and there it is for you. It teaches you things and helps you.

Carpe Diem(Pluck the day)

I aagree and disagree with that term. I agree with it because sometimes its so boring to plan every little thing in your life. You might want some excitement and fun that comes with not planning things and letting them just happen. But on the other hand you sometimes need to plan ahead so that you can get to where you want to be in life and be happy. Lets just say people who work in offices' just sit there everyday and do the same old thing and that gets boring from time to time! But then again people who really just take life a day at a time wont know whats going to happen next and sometimes thats scare. So im on both ends of the descussion.

Impressions of Local Religious Centers Blog

On september 4th we vistied three local religions. The first place we stopped a was My favorite Al Huda Islamic Center. They taught me so much. They really wanted to make me change my religion. It was that convincing. The second place we stoped at was at the Congregation of the Children of Israel. That place was so beautilful on the inside and so neat. The people in there seemed so nice and caring. And last but not least we went to a place called St. Joseph's Catholic Church. To me it looked just like the religion that i am in(Baptist). But there awas a couple of things that we do very diffrently then they(the religion) does.
The first building that we went to was small but neat. When we walked inside we had to take our shose off before we walked into the main room. When we did that he showed us into this room where it had no chairs because all the people did that worshiped there was stant up or be on there knees(which i thought was soo cool). The second place we went to was so big and pretty. It was unbelieveable. And that was just the lobby. When we went into the sanctuary there was lights all around the top of the building and there were flags on each side of the sanctuary, one was the american flag and the other was the islam flag. The third building looked just like my church. The chairs and pool-pit(if they call it that) was alike but in the corner they had mother mary(who they aak for help) and on the walls they had the last three days of Jesus' life all around the church.. All of the buildings were pretty to me.
I think what was really cool about the first on ethat we went to was that when a baby boy is first born they father picks him up, says a prayer in his rigth ear, and then says another one in hi left ear. A nd for the send place that we went to, I think it was cool that when a baby girl is born they wait a few days and then they go to churh to name her. So for those few days she has no name. I wish i was born with no name lol. And for the third one the cool thing is that they ask Mother mary everything that they need help on and they say that she really helps them.

Unit Two: World Religions Assignment 1: Preview Reflection and Blog Post

I think that people need religions to inform us where our spirits go after death. Also some people think that a religoin definds who you are. But people who are atheis think there there is no such thing as a religion and that there is no god. I also think that people have religions because they want someone to pray to when they are having a hard time or when they are going thru good times, or they need some one to look up to.

What does it mean to be civilized? What makes something or someone "civilized"?

To me being civilized means to be sifisticated and be lady/gentlemen like. Civilized people know how to handle there selves and they know how to follow rules and restictions. I thinck being civilized also means to be calm in situations.
